Atmosphere : Treecreeper is a wittily modernised Thai style house that is surrounded by large trees. The european chairs, colourful walls, and the peaceful feeling of old woods can really calm you down on Sunday afternoon. This is also another place with marvelous coffee, which makes a great combo with owner's homemade macaroons. The flavours of the macaroons are very well-balanced and well-selected despite its poor execution on the texture of the piece, which is sometimes quite ok to overlook.

Apart from the cute sweets and coffee Treecreeper is also one of rarest places that offer you an ice cold draft Kronenburg.

Est. 33

Location : Crystal Design Center

Atmosphere : Est.33 houses the best local draft beer in Thailand. As a sub-brand of this country's largest brewing company Singha Corporation, they make beers themselves in the shop. With a micro-brew station and an on-site brew master, Est.33 offers 4 different kinds of beers; lager, copper, dark, and weizen (seasonal). Topped up with fusion food from Minibar Royale management team and extra beer cocktails, the place is absurdly packed. During winter it is almost impossible to get a table on arrival. So it is highly recommend that you come early or make a reservation before you land. However, there is also a plastic cup service if you don't want to hangout.

It's such a shame that Est.33 situates in a place so far away. But sometimes that's just nothing compared to its good beer.

Cafe Turin

Location : Saladaeng Soi 2 (Saladaeng Colonade)

Atmosphere : Hidden in a colonial style apartment is a compact italian coffee shop Cafe Turin. It is the perfect spot for an isolated weekend, when you want to spend time with yourself reflecting things. The place makes you feel out of place, clam and modest in a lovely European way. On non-working days, the only crowd you will find are people in the neighbourhood living their lives. But during work days the cafe seems to be moving faster along the vibe of its neighbourhood.

Ifitis

Location : Sukhumvit Soi 38

Atmosphere : Ifitis (if-it-is) is a one of the cozy tiny houses along the soi that stands out because of its converted facade and a bright yellow wall painted by the owner. When you walk in you will find the place filled with peculiar decorative knickknacks and a mixture of furniture, which give out a fun and lively ambiance. And to compliment with the place Ifitis, of course, serves you fusion food. The highlight of the night seems to be the wedges with its 10 different sorts of dips, chicken curry roti, and fried liver.

Mokka The Old Fashion Cafe

Location : Sarasin Road, opposite to Lumpini Park

Atmosphere : The new Mokka is even better! Compared to the old one on Langsuan rd., this 3 storeys row house space just has more affect on you. Bits and pieces from the old place have been put together in the new style that reminds you of small vintage cafes in a laneway. Each floor has its unique feel to it, from formal to casual. The menu is still the same with Belgian drafts and Thai -Western dishes. But what's new and very cool now is that they have a "Happy Hour" all night on Wednesdays.

The service team is the same people who are still nice and friendly :)

Happy Monday

Location : Ekkamai Shopping Mall, Ekkamai soi 10

Atmosphere : Happy Monday is a must for indie kids. If you think you are one of them and have never come here you must reconsider yourself because it is said to be the place where most indie teens sip their first naughty drinks. One of the reasons of it being the Mecca of these adorable people is the very friendly price with a loosen up ambiance, nice food, killer music from new-face djs, and sometimes art events. However despite the fact that there's a dj spinning the level of the sound is still at a suitable range for having a nice conversation with your friends. The only downside of this place seem to be that the outdoor zone is unbelievably full of huge mosquitoes. But everyone doesn't seem to care much about it anyway.When the place gets really packed some of the staff can turn strict on you. So make sure you choose your words carefully when the place is crazy.

After hour service is not actually available but they still let you sit around in the dark with your BYO drinks anyway.

Dean & Deluca

Location : BTS Chong Non-si Station Mahanakorn Sales Office

Atmosphere : The only branch in Southeast Asia of New York's most famous gourmet deli "Dean & Deluca" has just specifically landed itself in Bangkok. Of course the place is packed! Despite the fact that they've expanded the outdoor zone there is still a long queue, especially on Sundays. But thanks to its high ceiling, customers can always still relax and enjoy their conversations without feeling all crammy. The grocery section next to the seating area is full of quality goods in adorable packaging that comes reasonable price. The gourmet food served at Dean & Deluca is moderately pleasing but the coffee is superb. Make sure you order espresso or macchiato shots when you visit here. They also serve "Kopi Luwak" or civet coffee (yes, coffee beans in civet's poop), which costs approximately 1,000 bht per gram and is supposed to taste divine. So the price per glass is out of the question. But if you want to have a place in D & D's database, order the poop.

Minibar Royale

Location : Sukhumvit 23 (Soi Prasanmitr)

Atmosphere : Minibar Royale can be counted as one of the hippest place in Bangkok as it is always crowded and packed with celebrities. Sitting here feels a lot like hanging out in a sleek Parissien bistro where you can just be there from dusk till dawn. And that is actually a fact because they serve you food all day; brunch, lunch ,and dinner.

Minibar's food often comes in New York style diversity with bit of twist. For example instead of just serving normal fries they choose to serve "chilli cheese fries" which actually tastes lovelier and looks more interesting. Apart from the food Minibar Royale offers a surprisingly wide range of beverages which includes its own signature drinks, Belgian draft, a page of wine list and seasonal premium selected. Promotions here vary from time to time such as Francis Ford Coppola wine tasting sessions, tapas specials, oysters season, festive meals. You have to keep up with these things.

All the staff here are so casual and friendly that sometimes you feel like they are your friends once you've become a regular. And, remember, whenever the weather is nice Minibar Royale outdoor zone is one of your first choices.

HOBS (Aree Garden)

Location : Areesamphan

Atmosphere : Another Belgian beer place offer by HOBS. Originated in the heart of Thonglor this version of HOBS (House Of Beers) is more of an isolated hipster hangout place with a bit of a greenery feel to it. It generously provides more space, more comfortable chairs, and friendlier staff. All the the beer promotions are the same as HOBS at Thonglor. If you are an existing member you can also exercise your privileges here. However, while the Thonglor branch is full of hot girls here you might not find many!
